EaseMyTrip Promoting UDAN Scheme with Special Discounts on Flights
One of the biggest flight booking sites of India, EaseMyTrip is promoting UDAN flight scheme of the government by offering additional discount on flights to UDAN routes. UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) Scheme was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October, 2016 and first flight under this plan was launched in April 2017 for Shimla to Delhi. UDAN is the first of its types of scheme in entire world using which regional connectivity can be increased by a market-based mechanism.

As a trustworthy name in travel industry of India, EaseMyTrip has always been active in promoting all positive initiatives taken by the government. Be it Clean India Campaign or Go Green to save earth, the travel agency has given its contributions in all these great missions. At present, the company is having a strong B2B network of 65,000 Travel agents, 2500 Franchise Outlets, 7000 Corporate, 1600 Distributors, and 640 Whitelabel solutions. It has around 8 million direct customers and receives around 20K flight bookings daily. They are also targeting to increase their revenue through non-air products and have kept a target of 10X growth in hotel booking for FY-2019.

“UDAN is a very good initiative of the Prime Minister of India that proved to be great news for the citizens of the small towns. Through this scheme, they can fly to their hometowns at really affordable rates. To promote this scheme, we are also giving additional discounts to our customers” said Mr. Nishant Pitti, CEO of EaseMyTrip. “A major part of the people living in metropolitan cities and tier-2 cities of India are from small towns that used to look for good connectivity between the cities they are from and where they actually reside. UDAN flights are the perfect option to serve their requirement. Although air ticket prices for these flights were already cheap but we have reduced this cost by giving additional discount from our side to make their travel more affordable” he added further.

Under the UDAN scheme, 50% of the seats of the selected airlines had a limit of Rs 2,500 per seat/hour. The company is giving an additional discount of Rs.500.
